Horrible experience. The most disorganized process I have ever been a part of. We were misled the entire time. We were assigned a loan officer that was going to be in vacation throughout the whole process and our file was given to the most incompetent person who didn’t even have the licenses or education to guide us through. We Given a close date, told the process was going smoothly, told we were pretty much wrapped up and to go ahead and give our notice on our current place then proceeded to drag their feet and close date causing our family immense stress and without a clear place to live. If I had to go back, I would NEVER go through them again and I absolutely will NOT RECOMMEND.

I’m really sorry to hear how stressful this experience was for you and your family. Buying a home should feel exciting and supported, not confusing or overwhelming, and it’s disappointing to hear that the process felt disorganized and left you uncertain about where things stood.

It’s especially concerning to hear that you felt misled about the progress of your loan and your expected closing date. I understand how upsetting it must have been to give notice on your current home based on those expectations, only to have the timeline change and create uncertainty about your living situation. That’s a difficult position for any family to be in, and I’m truly sorry for the stress this caused.

I would highly recommend Veterans United to family and friends. I’ve actually already recommended Shawn Hall to a few of my friends. This was my first home buying experience and I really didn’t know what to expect. Shawn Hall was phenomenal! He was very attentive, he made sure I understood everything that was going on and set my expectations well. He is very passionate about helping people and that showed thought the whole process. His communication was top tier! My situation was different because we were supposed to close on one house and it fell through due to the seller, however Shawn was extremely positive and guided us through and we closed on the second home. Shawn did make me feel like a number that most lenders would make you feel like. He made me feel like a person that deserved the home that I wanted and made sure to do all that he could to make sure I was taken care of and for that I am truly grateful! Shawn was the highlight of my experience and he is a huge asset to Veterans United! His team was also great to work with also. Sarah was definitely on it! She made sure information was put out accurately and in a timely manner to make sure all parties were on one accord! The team is an All Star team!!

VU was very helpful and even covered a few thousand in rate extension fees and some underestimations in the final disclosure. They helped forward mail, setup utilities and had partner deals on home security, internet, etc. Overall, very helpful throughout the process and ended up getting exactly what we needed - a house - with only a few thousand out of pocket! Randy was awesome.
